I was recommended to read it and I found it a good resource to have. It has been good to realize that being defensive hurts relationships more than I could think. I like also that it provides advice with real examples.

This is essentially a communication guide that focuses on honesty and accountability. It helps you stop being immediately defensive and own up to your mistakes. It gives a simple script to get more comfortable with apologizing and then you move on to a structured apology so you can be totally sincere.

Great topics throughout this book. A few that caught my interest is “ Looking in the mirror without breaking it, Dealing with people who won’t let it go” both a must read! But my favorite is “ Teaching others ( Especially your kids) to own their stuff.” Kids need to learn accountability. Everyone will get something out of this book. I highly recommend.

If you are someone that carries heavy guilt, I highly recommend this book. It covers everything from giving a good apology to healing your relationship with yourself and rebuilding relationships with others. One of the my biggest take-aways from this is that by owning your actions and taking responsibility for them–whether good or bad–your relationships will change for the better. It gives you integrity. Every chapter has actionable steps at the end, that help you toward owning your actions and taking responsibility for them. While it was a relatively fast read, it is something that I will be going back to often for reference.
